Gezelle introduced the common people to wild animals and exotic plants in a series with a beautiful Dutch title.
Wild Animals, Plants and Strange Creatures
Guido Gezelle wrote Uitstap in de Warande as an original series of articles for Rond den Heerd (By the Fireside) in 1866-1867. It always featured a description of an animal or a plant combined with an illustration. From 1882 on the series was also published separately.
