Serafien Dequidt

Seraphijn Dequidt, son of Joannes Dequidt, farm labourer, and Theresia Delacauw, was appointed study master at the college in Veurne. On 27.08.1882 he was ordained priest in Bruges. On 14.07.1893 he became the director of the Saint Leo college in Bruges. He was involved in the Davidsfonds and became chairman of its Brugean department in 1893. On 06.02.1906 he became a pastor in De Panne. As an author he wrote several articles for Biekorf. He also published poetry in Guido Gezelle’s style. After Gezelle’s death he published Guido Gezelle, zijn leven en werk (Guido Gezelle, his life and work) (1900).
