Felix Dewilde, son of Henricus Dewilde, baker, and Joanna Denys, and half brother of Henricus Dewilde, was ordained priest on December 18th, 1852 in Bruges. First he was a teacher at the college in Menen (1853), then he became a teacher at the college of Saint Louis in Bruges. Subsequently he was curate in Pittem (January 23rd, 1864) and Kortrijk (May, 25th, 1871) and parish priest in Lauwe (July 3rd, 1874).
