Emile Dambre was a son of Joannes-Benedictus Dambre, farmer, and Maria-Joanna Glorie, and the younger brother of Amandus and Edouard Dambre. Emile Dambre was a pupil at the minor seminary in Roeselare (1853-1861, philosophy 1861). He was ordained priest on 17.12.1864 in Bruges. He was a teacher at the Saint Louis college in Bruges (02.10.1864). He was consecutively curate in Langemark (13.01.1869), Izegem (15.03.1871) and Bruges (Our Lady’s Church 17.12.1875). Next he became parish priest in Oostkamp (Church of Saint Peter in the chains, 14.11.1883 until his death on 14.04.1911).
