Achiel Piepers was the son of Leo Piepers and Desideria Huysman. He studied in Kuurne when he corresponded with Gezelle. On 15 September 1894 Achiel Piepers became invigilator at the college of Saint Amands in Kortrijk. He was ordained priest in Bruges on 8 June 1895. First he became a teacher (10.09.1896) and then house keeping expert (30.10.1904) at the college of Saint Louis in Bruges. In Moeskroen he first was principal of the college (6.06.1908), entering the order of the Barnabites on 4 April 1913. He became curate in Oostende (22.08.1913), and parish priest in De Panne (27.04.1920) and Ardooie (22.08.1924).
